Internship, Residency and Fellowship Programmes.
** Aga Khan University invites applications for its Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) programmes starting November 1, 2009.

*Requirements *
*INTERNSHIP* Internships are open to all medical graduates, including those expecting their MBBS final results by October 9, 2009.

*RESIDENCY *
Applications are invited for Residency programmes in the following disciplines: Adult Cardiology; Anaesthesiology; Cardiothoracic Surgery; Chemical Pathology; Community Medicine; Diagnostic Radiology; Emergency Medicine; Family Medicine; Gastroenterology; General Surgery; Haematology; Histopathology; Internal Medicine; Microbiology; Nephrology; Neurology; Neurosurgery; Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Operative Dentistry; Ophthalmology; Orthodontics; Orthopaedic Surgery; Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery; Paediatric Surgery; Paediatrics & Child Health; Psychiatry; Pulmonary Medicine; Radiation Oncology; Urology.

Candidates may apply for only one residency programme at a time. Flexible PGME training programmes are also available.

*FELLOWSHIP*
Applications are invited for entrance into Fellowship (post-residency advanced training) in the following disciplines: Adult Infectious Diseases; Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology; Clinical Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine; Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism; Diagnostic Neuroimaging; Intensive Care Medicine; Interventional Cardiology; Medical Oncology; Neonatal Paediatrics; Neurovascular; Paediatric Cardiology; Paediatric Haematology/Oncology; Paediatric Critical Care Medicine; Paediatric Infectious Diseases; Paediatric Neurology; Pain Management; Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Candidates may apply for only one Fellowship programme at a time.

for Rs. 150 payable by cash/ pay order/bank draft in favour of Aga Khan University, and drawn on a bank in Karachi if requesting by post in Pakistan.

The Admission Office is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Application material is also available from all branches of Soneri Bank Ltd. in Pakistan.

Last dates for receipt of applications for:
Internship and residency programmes: July 20, 2009.
Fellowship programmes: August 13, 2009.

Admission test: August 16, 2009 to be held simultaneously in Karachi and Islamabad.

Details will be notified through the admit card. The test will be used to shortlist candidates for interviews.

There is no admission test for entrance into Fellowship training. Selection will be based on qualifications, past experience and interviews.

Applicants selected from training programmes in other institutions must submit a No Objection Certificate or a copy of the resignation approved by the supervising consultant before joining.
